I havent installed it yet. I am debating on doing it myself or just handing it over to the shop near my house to install. Its not that I couldnt do it, I just feel better when other people work on my guitars. I am very capable but I guess its like eating your own cooking. I always feel I did something wrong. Anybody else feel this way when it comes to setting up your own guitars?

Heck no, I'm the total opposite. Except for a fret job or something huge, I couldn't imagine letting someone else work on my guitars...unless it was the guys from Zion of course :)

    ...or Paul Reed Smith.

I just cleaned the fretboard and frets using steel wool, and felt comfortable doing that, but I couldnt bring myself to install the tremolno for some reason. Not yet at least. I guess I am just weird. It plays like a dream right now, and I guess I think I would throw the setup out of wack if I did that. maybe... maybe not.

    Hey,
The invoices says set neck. Can you show us what one looks like please? Set necks are not typical for Zions.

    Thanks

    Walker22,

The action adjustment is not as delicate as you might think and won't be upset. The primary adjustments: nut slot height, truss rod, neck angle, bridge height, saddle height, will not change by the installation of the tremol-no http://www.tremol-no.com/

I say a celebration is in order. What do you say that Zion gives everyone who has posted in this thread a Zion guitar?

    Hi,
Anyone know a good dealer to work with? There's no Zion dealers in Northern California (San Jose), thus I need to call someone. Someone who won't charge me MSRP price... Thanks!

When I go to TGP this is the first place I visit. I love Zion guitars and this thread has been very beneficial to many. I salute guitardude5 and Ken for making Zion ownership more fun and interesting.

    Cheers,

The dealer list as of July 2007.
    http://www.zionguitars.com/main.asp?template=contact&level1=Zion Dealer Network

It is limited and I can't recommend one over the other. As far as I know, they all discount from MSRP. You will have to contact them for a purchase price.

    Thanks Ken,
I'm really wanting to order a Zion guitar similar to what Phil Keaggy plays. It seems very versatile, going from single coil to humbucker. I really want to try out a Zion, but no dealers near where I live. I'm willing to take the plunge as soon as I could get some to talk to me!!

Here is a similar model featuring that versatile wiring.

    Hey Ken,
    Couple of questions:

    1) Is the neck set neck or bolt on?
    2) Is there "Phil Keaggy Wiring"? If not, can I ask for it?
    3) Any pics of the hard shell case?

    Thanks!
