Jonny Winter on Lettermen --

I just saw Johnny live in December - he is really getting up there - blind as a bat but still nimble-fingered. But Lettermen (who I used to like but just can't stand anymore)is no spring chicken either.

A couple of old timers talking about the old days. Dave's heart attack - that story never grows old.

Ah yes, the obligatory shot at Dave.

Finally some music on Letterman that I can relate to! (just seen some stuff on Dave's show lately that has had me scratching my head, but I'm old...)

I love Johnny Winter- a living (maybe barely, but still there...) legacy of great blues

Well, Johnny rocked, but Letterman's comments afterwards were, shall we say, unfortunate.

That's what I was worried about - Letterman taking some cheap shot at Johnny's expense.

I'm not sure it was meant to be mean spirited on Dave's part. That's just his stream of consciousness comedy style. He saw the band and thought of their life of driving and flopping suitcases and endless one nighters and out came the joke.

exactly. Letterman was just talking about going on the road with the band. No reason to get panties wadded.

I thought Johnny Winter sounded really good. Sure, he's aged but he still brings it, especially when compared to MOST of what passes for live bands on talk shows these days.

What there is no reason for, is to ever (EVER!!!) use this term! EVER!!!!

Further I do not think anyone was "what you just said". There was only mild observational commentary on Letterman's remark. Wasn't it recently announced that Winter is now drug-free for the first time in his life? That is what prompted my remark.

In other news, I thought Johnny did sound great and I was pleased/surprised he gave his however wankazoid guitar player a feature!
