My wife comes home from shopping....

And brings me an iPad2 !!!

I couldn't believe it, just out of the blue, no special occasion, tells me there's one more bag in the car and could I get it for her, pick it up and there it is.
She still laughs at the look on my face when i see it

Anyway, I've since got Morphwiz, a couple multitrack recorders, MyMusicStand a sheet music display, set list maker and Angry Birds.

Next up is a mic stand holder.

So, what else is out there in terms of connectivity? I'm wanting to use this thing live.

Would a stereo 1/8" cable split to two xlr's be overkill?

Anyway to import songs other than iTunes?

Line 6 just released an interface that will also work with other apps. But you may want to download their app as well, as it appears to basically turn your iPad into a full featured ( save for the input and output options ) Pod Xt. Peavey's Amp Kit Link ( which I own ) is good for going into the 1/8" jack, and only costs $30.

Interfaces that use the docking connector have superior sound quality at least in terms of sending a guitar or mic signal into the app. For just audio playback from the iPad the 1/8 connector is fine.

Get ready to find a stash of 100 pairs of shoes or something like that. These things don't usually happen in a vacuum.

(kidding... no really...)
