Say, it's West Side rather than West Coast blues, but I can highly recommend the latest CD from Eddie C. Campbell. Spider Eating Preacher comes out officially (from Delmark) tomorrow, but Bluebeat has had it in stock for a couple of weeks, and mine arrived on Saturday. This one in particular is loaded with Eddie's idiosyncratic originals; Fender reverb-y Jazzmaster tones; his distinctive playing -- and it features Lurrie Bell on three tracks (one on harmonica!). Great stuff. Did anyone happen to catch Eddie at Cadillac Zack's jam last week?

That's not Jr Watson, it is one of his doubles. I heard he has four. More than most modern dictators in fact.

I'm sure! I miss the Blues in the Bay Area, especially at the Grand Dell and PHB. More videos to come?

So it doesn't get lost from the previous incarnation - does anyone have any recent news on how Lynwood Slim is getting along?

A drummer I work with is really good friends with Slim. He talked to him this past Saturday. He said Slim sounds good and things are hopeful. That's all I'll repeat cuz I don't want to speak out of turn. I really should call him myself. Maybe I could convince him to post here.
