VFE Pale Horse overdrive dynamics demo

Hey, folks ~ I usually tend to favor amp overdrive over pedal --> clean amp overdrive.

That said, I am LOVING this Pale Horse pedal! Thought I'd share this quick & very sloppy demo... I know that the phrase "amp-like" gets thrown around a lot when it comes to dirt pedals, but in this case ... :idk: ... seems to apply.

Anyway, I made a couple clips: lots of noodles & some familiar, very badly mangled, riffs, so y'all can hear how close the pedal can get to my amp's od channel.

Love how this pedal cleans up, too.

I liked it, but it was very noisy. It was one of the noisiest pedals I owned at the time. If he could get the noise floor down, I would try it again.

Thank's for that...I really liked the OD texture in the clip but I can't hang with hiss...been the deal breaker on more than one occasion...

I wonder if I just got lucky -- my pedal just doesn't seem to hiss the way y'all are describing... at least, not to my ear. Are y'all hearing a hiss in the clip?

The Pale Horse uses a low-noise OPA2134 chip & a ton of power filtering. If your unit was noisy, it may have been faulty, so please let us know so we can fix it!

That said, there is a TON of gain in the pedal, ~30dB more than the TS808/TS9 family, so it will very easily amplify any noise in your rig at higher gain settings.
