N G D !!!!!!!!

Now this is what I remember a Gibby playing and sounding like! I've always dug the 70's LP Deluxes.....I guess it's the fact I lusted over my cousin's when I was a kid around age 8. It was the first guitar I ever touched and yes it was the first guitar I learned to play "Smoke on the Water" on....LOL It also was the reason I picked an 80 LPC as my 1st new guitar. I saw this 74 come up for sale here on TGP(TY Jack Daniels) and thought for the price I couldn't go wrong. I will admit that everytime I go on E-Bay "Gibson Les Paul Deluxe" is one of my saved searches. I've passed on some very nice ones because I just don't see 70's as fetching Vintage prices being asked. This one has been around the block....been re-finished a number of times...been re-fretted....been routed to get rid of the mini-hums, yet still plays well...stays in tune..and takes me way back. PRS's are like Ferrari's.....and these old Gibby's are like an American smallblock with a 4spd. They get up to speed in different ways, but both put a sh*teating grin on your face!!

I love my 71. I still have the mini-hums and love the tones they give.

Nice, I have a 73 Goldtop Dlx just like yours. I routed mine for the HB's (dumb), also. Mine has never been refinished and has a set of Grover Tuners on her. It plays fast, and looks very "reliced".

I was told the are early BB 1's.....They sound good, the guitar just needs a little set-up work to my liking including balancing out the pups.
