Very sad to read this.
We moved to the area 10 years ago and I was thrilled to discover the shop and quickly developed a friendship with Bob, Rob, Greg and the other guys. I was sad when I first learned that Bob was ill, and saddened futher when the shop closed. Rest in peace Bob. |

Man this is rough. I know he was sick....
Bob got it, he was a great sales guy. Let punk kids like me play guitars that I could never afford. I bought my first real electric from Bob, spent hours and hours in his store. He will be missed... |

Deeply saddened as i just emailed Bob last year after not talking to him in 30 years. Chatted and he never mentioned the big C. Nicest guy you'd ever met. Let me take guitars home on credit before i even made a payment as i was a regular customer. His dad was also a nice guy...RIP to both of them

God Awful. It's always the good ones. Bob was a great guy. Always a class act and always had a good thing to say about everyone. My best to his family and friends.

This is indeed very sad news.
I knew Bob from way back in the first store, about a mile from the one in Ossining. His dad Sal, was the nicest guy ever, as was Bob. They both were super supportive and offered plenty of encouragement. Sal was the president of the local musicians union, and my grandfather knew him from that and held him in high regard. After mowing lawns and delivering newspapers for what seemed like forever I saved up enough money and bought my first "real" instrument from them. I ordered something that wasn't in stock and finally got the call that it was in. When I went to pick it up I had no idea that a case was extra (I was just a kid!). Bob gave me the case for it and told me to pay him a little at a time when I could. I probably bought another 5 guitars, a bunch of amps, cases, keyboards and PA's over the years that followed. Most of the guitars were bought on time payments, all thanks to Bob. I left the area in the late 80's and, while visiting in the area, stopped in there around 2000 or so to say hi. But he wasn't there that day, and I was stunned to hear that Sal had passed. RIP Bob. |

I miss Bob!
I was hoping to connect with Bob - didn't know how to find him. I've been poking around to see if I could get info for the last few months... Then I heard only monday from the local barbershop behind what used to be People's Westchester in Ossining that Bob had passed.
Bob had shared loads of stories. Sal used to come up to help with the student rentals. More than just instruments, I found lots of good companionship there. His shop became a sort of community center - with customers in all walks. |

Didn't know him, but he sounded like a nice guy. RIP. I've never seen a name that close to mine before (Salassi).
