Timeline Preset naming help needed....

It's got my Timeline today from Strymon. I'm about ready to rip my hair out trying to figure out how to name individual presets. I'm following the Strymon instructions to a T, but there is NO "names" in my global menu. Can anyone help me out? The thing sounds awesome, but there's no way I'm going to remember a bunch of numbers in order to access presets.

First check what version it's running. If its the latest, the. In the normal preset menu, if you scroll thru it will have names. I think that's all?

The names aren't in the globals menu, they're in menu of each individual preset

Yeah, but you're supposed to turn names to "on" or "scrolling" in the the global menu first, right? There's no "names" in any of the presets either.

At any rate, I figured out that my unit arrived with firmware version 1.14, which makes me a little ticked. I ordered on April 7th- I really don't know why they would send me a unit with firmware from (I think) two updates ago.

Looks like I'll be waiting for ebay China to send me an el cheapo MIDI USB cable. Or do I have to go out and buy the recommended $40 one?

First world problems.... I know. But all the raved about firmware updates caused me to sell EVERY delay I own for this thing, and I was really hoping to get up and running quick.

I see. That would indeed suck. I would email strymon, their customer service is great, they'll set it right.

Does it have spillover when switching between presets? That'd be another quick way to check. Should be under the global menu.

No spillover. I'm pretty bummed. Will it at least save the presets I've been working on when I do the firmware update? I'm pretty surprised they're still shipping with 1.14. I sent an email to them, so we'll see how it turns out.

Their customer service is great

Anyhow, my presets weren't lost during the update.

Cool, cause in that case I'm hoping I can just go in and name them once I'm up to date.

Based on the thread.. seems like people have had mixed results. I just went with the recommended one to be sure.

I would advise you to go to your nearest music store or GC and get the M-Audio Midisport Uno. Save yourself the hassle and buy it. If you ever use other midi compatible devices that need to be updated via midi, the Uno will perform flawlessly.

That's F'd up on so many levels. Why would Strymon ship you a brand new unit with old firmware, considering the update was released on FEBRUARY 1ST??? nice QC there Strymon!

I totally agree that it's f'd, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how it plays out.
