Gibson Dave Grohl model coming
... basically a modified Trini Lopez.
From GC's website... With a set mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, diamond soundholes and Burstbucker pickups, this Dave Grohl Signature guitar is perfect for Foo Fighters fans or anyone who wants the versatility of a semi-hollow electric. Hard rock, classic, pop, swing, billy styles and more are all fair game with this beauty. Built around the comfortably-sized ES-335 body, you're likely to find yourself using this axe for just about everything you play. The 50s neck shape is easy on your hand whether you're playing chords or lead, and the combination of Grover tuners and the fixed bridge keep tuning time to a minimum. From his days as the drummer of Nirvana to his guitar and lead vocal work with his band Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl has been a powerful force in the music world. I'm really into the Pelham blue lately. From what I can tell it looks to be a model worth owning even to those who don't like signature guitars.
Any idea of how much they will be priced? |

Good timing considering their new album comes out the 25th.

I'm not a fan of signature guitars but that does look sexy! No inlays or ebony with block inlays would be fabulous. .

Out of curiosity, what music did Trini Lopez play? was he a Jazzer?

sweet guitar. Dave's a good guy, and an even better drummer (that's saying a lot). And I love Trini's. (I wonder if there's a Trademark issue with Gibson not mentioning the guitar's heritage? probably).
If only it came in red... [edit: apparently it comes in black though. nice!] Last edited by disaster; 09-12-2007 at 12:53 PM. |

Photo looks like one of those Vegas Standard models that they've been selling for the past year or so.

man...I'm glad they picked up Dave on this one...the Tom Delonge and Billie Joe Armstrong signature guitars were ridiculous...finally they pick up someone I can actually respect as a musician.
