-I think the "Metal" name is not accurate.
-It has an incredibly articulate lead channel.
-It will be insanely loud.
-The clean channel is way underrated, it sounds great at almost any volume, just turn that guitar volume down if you have hot pickups.
-It is built to last forever
-They are especially great in a live setting.
-If you can find a "V" shaped "Metal" cabinet, it will sound even better.
-They WILL blow 4 greenbacks if are not careful, for a 2x12", use 75W speakers or be very careful

Mark

PS Give us a full report

Oh yeah...rkstarr the modern is the new metal, if fact my modern is serial number WM503 and my Metals are WMxxx

Every single person I know that has played on or owned one has said the same thing. Very Cool but Extremely loud and Extremely bright. I also hear it does one thing really cool and nothing else comes close to what it does except a roccaforte which is probably of the same lineage. For that reason I hope to play one at some point. Was not impressed at all with the one I heard at the high gain shoot out in LA but I think that model was called a rock Classic. Could be wrong. Either way that amp got slaughtered by everything in the room.

Sure do!

My two Wizards were both bright, I had a hard time getting them to "warm" up, but maybe my style doesn't work for those amps. I played them pretty loud too!

My Metal is not bright unless its set that way, there is a "Bright" knob which can be turned down....and its not insanely loud either, though it can be turned up and get loud. My Modern Classic is louder....

Here are a few cheesy clips...probably not stylistically what is liked here.

and a really bad live board tape, sorry about all the annoying pick squeals and stupid noises....my drummer hates them so he needs tortured!

Steve,

Was the one you heard a Rock Standard by chance? I've heard those were not very good. They were something along the lines of a Park inspired amp.
