Show us your studio

Let's see your studio. Feel free to post images or videos. Keep images small or link to them so it doesn't mess with the page layout too much.

I converted my double garage into my studio. Control room/soundbooth.

Cheers,

Peter.

I've posted this before but here is my studio again: An AMS Neve Logic 3 and audiofile and a pro tools 002 set-up. I just sold the Neve as I am going to be pro tools only from this year:

Where did you get that wall mount patch box and what is the official name for those?
I've been meaning to get something like it for my new setup instead of a stage snake but could not find any info on them...

You should get a studio rack...

nice little setup though.

Thanks

Those are similar to the Roland v-drums except I built this kit from the ground up. I used to have a non expanded TD10 module but had to sell it for a monthly bill so I'm on a TD6V module now.
I'm saving up for the TD12 module next.

you would be better off placing the monitors on stands to get more space between them which I feel makes mixing easier. It may also get rid of the humm from the power pack. You can also try something like one of these rack mount power conditioners for your gear:

I finished up my work on the current project there last night...the next step will be in another studio, but we'll be back to mix.

The control room pictured is the 'B' room...$30 an hour, seriously! We did a little work in the 'A' room last night, $65 an hour...The 'A' is much nicer in many ways, but doesn't look as cool, in my opinion.

My theory at this point is that I'm better of financially not feeling the need to gas for audio equipment...that said, I do mostly vocals/acoustic, so I probably could do a lot at home, then again, for the cost of the two Royer's used on my acoustic, I can get 100 hours in the 'B' room...I probably would be able to record my parts on every song I write for the rest of my life in 100 hours...I'm not prolific.

We can assume it's devin's studio.

This is "show us your studio" and that's what he posted. I'm sure he wouldn't post pics of someone else's studio. With all the times he's posted it he's never given the name though.

It's the recently defunct Metrosync. They got caught up in the bad business practices of the guy from the Jigsaw, and when he went belly up, they closed and sold to Lava Room.

I'm now doing most of my work at Ante Up.

Their rates are incredibly competitive.

Me? Oh no. Just where I'm working on a project right now.

The next step is actually going to be in Chicago, Chicago Sound Lab, do you know it?

I went to school for music education, and have often thought about trying to get into another music field, everything from engineering to entertainment law. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to work my way up in engineering to the point where I could pick and choose the projects I'd want to work on...and honestly, I'm not sure I'm as interested in engineering as I had been prior to everything becoming so computer dependent. It's not the computer based recording that bothers me so much as the maintenance and integration of all the computer stuff...

At this point, I think my dream job, outside of singer/songwriter is probably in the production vein, and maybe A&R...I just need my current work to become critically acclaimed so that can all work out.
