Live and learn...

It is just so great to learn that the BMOD and CJOD have finaly been unmasked and came out as just tube screamer clones... Of course, many of us knew it... I can't wait to see the ungooped pictures...

Where the heck do you guys come from?

Have half of you "just another tubescreamer" people actually LISTENED to the pedal? I've owned plenty of tubescreamers and the CJOD and BMOD are completely different animals. I can't even draw any comparisons to my Lovekraft Mojo Drive which is a clone of the Landgraff which is a tweaked tube screamer.

Please, will people stop spreading dumb rumors. Every other post about those pedals has been "tubescreamer" and I've never heard a tubescreamer have bloom or a compressor like feel to it, ever. If it's a tubescreamer, I'd LOVE to know what they've done to it to make it sound and feel so different. The entire appeal to those two pedals for me has been that they are the furthest thing from any tube screamer I've ever owned or tried in the past and I've owned everything from a TS-808 modded TS-10 to MJM Blues Devil Overdrives.

Dumb rumors????

Someone bought a BMOD just to ungoop it, take it appart and show it is just a slightly modified TS... That's settled, period. Get over it...

If you're serious about knowing the "secrets" I can help you: Just go to the right forum, soon there will be degooped guts pictures and the exact description of the TS mods in the CJOD/BMOD.

I would really like to see the ungooped pics. What is the hold up with them? Very anxious. I do have a BMOD on order. But at any rate, it is still the best setting of the Landgraff for $100.00 less than a landy. Without having to roll the dice on either a really cool paint job or a really fruity one.

I would like to see the pics of the inside. It is odd that the guy on the other site can ungoop a pedal and build a new one but couldn't manage to put pics up right away. Can we get a side by side shot of the landgraff next to the BMOD next to a real CJOD?

Rumor or not. I would like to see the pics. I joined the other forum a few weeks ago and found lots of cool info. The site demystifies certain builders and makes me respect others more. Lots of good info there. Also probably some BS mixed in but nonetheless it is a cool site.

Umm, I'm sure the fsb people are great guys, but WHY since Clay has been pretty up front about the inspiration for his pedal, and most people who've owned one agree that it explains the sound, are we still being beaten over the head with "it's a tubescreamer"? It's a modded compressor. On that basis, it's not rocket science and can certainly be cloned, but why beat on he tubescreamer thing?

Well, I just looked at the pics. Cool that someone spent $300.00 to do that but what is the point? I am still not going to build one nor do I regret ordering one from Kris. I think that if the pedal sounds good, I will be happy. Does it matter if it is a tubescreamer or not? I mean really. Does it MATTER? Everything is a copy of a copy anyways. A lot of the boutique amps are modeled after Fender, Marshall(modded fender), Vox and Dumble. A lot of guitars are modeled after Fender. A lot of other effects are modeled after MXR. Who cares if it sounds good. I don't see people hating on Suhr or Tyler because they are "modded Fenders. All modded means in the real world is Improved on or changed. I am all for something that is better. It is called evolving. When it comes down to it, almost everything is a clone.

+100 on that:BEER

If the CJOD was modeled after a Landgraff, it has its own sound going!. Since the BMOD and CJOD sound identicle from the user tests, I am glad that I also bought a BMOD from Kris.

The BMOD certainly has a different feel and sound then a traditional TS circuit.

People claim the "E" is moddled after a TS also, and lots of us dig the "E" also for it own unique sound.

All you have to do is change three little components and get a completely different tone from a Tube Screamer than what it does stock.

Now that people know that the CJOD uses the LED clippers, maybe people will compare the sound of it to the LD-O in LED mode? Thus far, I've only ever heard it compared to the Landy in the other mode.
Not that it really matters that much... LOL!

Damn... well I'll be... how the heck could three little components change it THAT MUCH??? Good God, that definitely opens my eyes to just how many variables you can get with a tubescreamer circuit.

You got me, if this is legit: open mouth, insert foot.... you guys definitely tricked me (I'm stunned)

The modifiably parts are the opamp-types, the way the diodes clip, bass- and treble cut and the "tone" circuit. There are literally thousands of possibilities to create a different sounding pedal that's actually "YATS". Just a list Uma Floresta made:

Yes, but lets stress that Clay Jones himself has absolutely no part in this. He has mentioned many times that he really despises the hype.
