New Amp Build - Opinions Wanted
I'm planning ahead on a fall/winter amp kit build.
I looking for am amp that captures the AC30 Top Boost tone. My two current leaders are the Ceriatone Mutchless Lightning and the Trinity TC15. The TC15 appears to be more versatile that the Lightning, which I believe is basically a clone of the Matchless original. I want this amp for it's clean tones so keep that in mind. Both kits appear to use quality parts and both companies have excellent feedback from fellow forum members here. Any other pros or cons you can think of that I may have missed let me know. Also, any other kits that I may have missed? Let's hear about them. |

I'm not familiar with the Trinity TC15, but I don't think a Matchless Lightning is as much like an AC30TB as you might think. However, if you mate it with a 2x12 cab with the rigth speakers, it may have more of that vibe.
Try to play a lightning first to make sure it has the sound you want before you consider that. Lightning is a great amp though. I own one, and you wont' go wrong if it's a decent clone, which Ceriatone should be. Isn't there an AC30 clone kit out there somewhere?
