Suhr Fletcher Landau pickups... how good?

I played a Suhr with FL pickups a month or two ago and thought it was very good (the guitar wood and setup was excellent). Not a traditional sound but one that I think would stand out.

Anyone using them? What do you think?

I kind of thought I was in the Alnico II camp but maybe not...

That's interesting, they took the pickups out of Mike Landau's best 60's
strats, and the FL's are replicas of those. Maybe "traditional" is relative.

I found them to be hotter than the V60LPs, but I prefer the overall tone of the FLs to the V60Lps. I found the bridge pickup to be much better with overdriven tones than the LPs. I think I might like the LP neck pickup a smidgen better, but it is so close. Good pickups for sure.

I've got them in the neck and middle of my K-Line now and like 'em alot. I like 'em better than my Fralin 54's and Lollar Blackfaces.

I just picked up my new Warmoth Strat build after a three month wait, literally minutes ago, the standard FL's are in there along with the Suhr Back Plate. Just getting ready to try it out through the Badger 30.
