Pointy guitars......anyone?

After playing Les Pauls and Teles the lasy few years, I've switch over to decidedly heavy metal looking guitars for mostly non metal music. Something about those pointy shapes really gets me going, so I decided to buck the trend and play what I like.

Currently I'm using a Ibanez Xiphos, Ibanez Iceman, B.C. Rich Bich and a Gibson Explorer for my R&B/Rock gigs with Jasmin Handon. www.officiallyjasmin.com Of course I've been getting some curious looks from band member and audience member alike, but I love these instruments and frankly, they sound great. The only non pointy I take out is the Tele, cause nothing sounds like a tele, but for my humbucker stuff, which is mostly, these axes get the call.

If there are any more of you out there that enjoy playing pointy guitars, give a shout out and maybe some pics.

Peace

I am all about the pointy guitars:

And my latest acquisition:

See my review with soundclips in this forum.

And yes, I play them in two very non-heavy metal bands. Cool is cool. I'm sure Jeff1f will chime in on that!

What is the model/body-type name for the gumby-lookin ones in the center? Those are awesome!

You need one of these with "pointy" pickups!

Excellent! But you need a Futura in that lineup.

Those are some SHWEEET Deans you got there. I plan on picking up a Razorback and a white V as soon as funds become available. Also, I'd love one of the ESP AX model guitars too.

By the way, in a couple of my axe's, I've swapped pups to ones that better suit the style of music I'm playing now. I'm really liking the Dimarzio Virtual PAF and Fralins that I have in my Explorer, Iceman and Bich. For now, the D-Activators are staying in the Xiphos. Those are some of the finest, high output pups available, IMO.

I'll get pics up as soon as I can borrow a good digital camera.

Nothing worng with pointies. I have several Charvels and Jacksons. Some of my sweetest players I might add.

Now.... the points of a Dean. I will not go there

While I do have a couple Les Pauls and Strats, most of my guitars are Jacksons. Jackson/Charvel are by far my favorites and thats what I play 99% of the time. Of course I'm in an 80's cover band but still. If thats what you feel comfortable playing, I say play the pointies!
