Best amp head to run clean with pedals ?

Have a Laney Pro Tube 30 watt head , with a few different Avatar cabs ....set the Laney pretty clean ( low input master cranked , gain used fairly low , depending on volume ) ..and a nice bunch of pedals ..

Just wondering other amps would sound good running fairly clean in the same situation .....mostly use a modded DS-1 , modded MT-2 , and OCD ... thinking about a M13 sometime in the future ....any other amp suggestions ? thanks ...

The Port City Dual Fifty (a 50 watt blackface Bassman clone) is perfect for that. There website is www.portcityamps.com and they have some really good samples up. Daniel is a super guy to work with also.

I have a Zinky Blue velvet 25 watt...On the clean channel it takes pedals well for me..I have been hitting it with a Green Rhino or a Barbershop OD..This amp is well worth looking into...Killer Tones on both channels..Just my 2 cents..

Mesa Express 5:50 or a Lonestar
Have better cleans than Fenders now IMHO and are superlative with all pedals

I disagree. I played the Lonestar Classic and the Special and went directly to a Fender Twin Reissue. Maybe it was an exceptional one because most don't like the reissue models but it sounded excellent comapred to the Lonestar. The Lonestar Special was a close second, IMO. Maybe they need to be heard in other cabs because I really don't care for any Mesa cabs or combos I have ever heard.

The finest cleans I have heard in person so far IMO are the Fuchs. I would love to get my hands on the Fuchs Clean Machine. That is being marketed as the ultimate pedal friendly amp and it sure sounds amazing in clips along with the Fuchs Plush pedals. I have yet to see one or know of anyone that has one.....

Lonestar has good cleans, but a blackface Bassman head is easily $650... Lonestar heads are quite a bit bigger, way heavier, way more pricey.
