Hello
, I was wondering if I could rewire one of the included cables for a positive tip pedal ? The pedal is a fulltone octafuzz . Thanks !

Just use the one with one red end,it's the positive ground(center positive).Welcome to TGP.

If you're using a Pedal Power, as long as the Octafuzz is the only one one that output, it'll be fine. Mine runs my Proctavia and Octafuzz no problem.

I don't think you need a special cable, just make sure that pedal isn't daisy-chained with anything else. the cable doesn't know which is pos or neg, it just lets 'em thru but keeps 'em separated.

the cable doesn't but the pedal requires a positive tip and the power supply is a neg. tip . right ???

As long as it's the only pedal on that output, the cable shouldn't matter. The PP is individually isolated. I'm not sure exactly how it works but I do know it works. My +tip pedal is connected to my Pedal Power with the standard cable at this very moment. Kind of a pain to have a pedal that draws little current on its own output but its worth it. Octave fuzz is sweeeet!

I think you need to contact them for a different cable. From the manual:
What if my pedal uses reversed polarity (positive ground)? Because the Pedal Power has each of its DC outputs isolated, it doesn’t matter whether your pedals are negative or positive ground. What does matter is that the power jack has the correct polarity. The barrel connectors provided are for center negative and the 3.5mm mini plugs are for tip positive. If your pedal is different from this, contact Voodoo Lab to obtain the correct cable. EDIT: In fact, you need this one (and so do I, as a matter of fact): 5.5mm x 2.1mm “White” Barrel – Reverse Polarity (straight) Designed for reverse polarity powered units like the JangleBox, Fulltone SoulBender, '69, and Octafuzz. Also powers the Moogerfooger MF-101 Lowpass Filter, MF-102 Ring Modulator, MF-103 Phaser, and DMC/Voodoo Lab Cab-Tone. PPREV: $3.50 - Approximately 21” long, end-to-end. http://www.voodoolab.com/cables.htm |

BAN is absolutely right, as is the manual (obviously
). You will need to make sure the polarity of the plug matches what the pedal wants to see. An Octafuzz expects to carry the positive voltage on the center pin, while most regular pedals carries the positive on the sleeve/barrel (center negative). The red "Line 6" cable provides center positive, but the center hole is for a 2.5mm pin (rather than 2.1mm), so it may not have the best fit. You can get the white special order cable from Voodoo Lab, order a reverse polarity cable (stock Voodoo Lab one or custom length) from Stompin' Ground or even use the regular PP2+ cable with a CYR reverse polarity converter from Visual Sound. Interestingly, the Voodoo Lab Proctavia, while being positive ground, does not require a center positive plug, as it is wired regular center negative. So while you can run an Octafuzz and Proctavia from the same power source (same output on the PP2+), you need to reverse the polarity of the plug going into the Octafuzz. /Andreas
