Only 2 months late for something as custom as an 8 string fanned nylon acoustic? Sounds like you are quite lucky!

I have ordered over 30+ guitars to my specs (most from small builders). With only a couple of exceptions they all took longer than what I was originally told. The most extreme case I was told 5 months and ended up taking 38 months. I am waiting on one builder right now who I just past the 3 year mark from my order. I would consider yourself very lucky if it takes 5 additional months.

Will it be an actual classical guitar?
I just picked up the most insane 7-string concert classical, and I'm just beside myself.

Enjoy your new guitar.

And after having several guitars built for me, I can definitely say that two months extra isn't too unusual. Nor is it a big deal if you end up with a monster of an instrument.

Hang in there!

I feel your pain, brother. The guy building my amp initially told me 4 months. Next month will be a year

Yeah, even 5 months over schedule isn't bad. Frustrating, yes, but not bad.

So share with us - who's making a fanned fret classical? Sounds cool (I'm a Novax owner!).

i too own a novax . .hence the classical build ... hes made some fanned fret designs before but the particulars i ask for are new to him .. the tuning and specific fan span .. plus hes doing it for a price i can afford or eles other wise i probably would never be able to afford such a design ..

BTW, Ralph Novak has been the only custom builder I've had who came in on time! Most others were months to a year later than their original estimate. Ugh.

My eighteen month wait for one custom guitar is ending very soon.

I'm at 3 years on another, with no real idea of an end date....

i have never ordered a custom guitar BUT i do not like the idea of waiting even one more day after the promised date. If its one year wait then i will wait 365 days if it is 2 years then i will wait 760 days and not one more day. I just feel that if they promised a delivery date they should come thru. That is just my opinion.
