Musonia was/is the school run by Delores. No idea if its still in business tho, and I especially doubt she would still be there teaching. Why not try to contact Musonia?

A quick search provides:

I believe it is still open. Delores is still alive and seems to be well. She does attend the memorial services every March 19th. I would call the school to find out hours, prices, etc.

The school is a few blocks from my house, there always seems to be some sort of activity going on, still active when I drove by about a week ago. I don’t know who teaches there but I seem to recall hearing that Randy’s brother was somehow involved.

Kind or makes you wonder if the Randy Rhodes estate has a significant income. Did he get any song writing credits for the Ozzy stuff?

you are very lucky because after checking it out the school is a bout 1078 miles from where I live and I have to wait 3 more years to make the trip!
If you ever meet Kelle tell him to move to Fulton Missouri!

I think Delores has been in that business for many, many years and is the source of ongoing funding for the school-it is also a very fitting tribute and commeration of a wonderful guitar teacher's life-I wish he was still here now at 52 years old to reflect on the past 27 years and to have given us much more music.

When I was a kid I used to deliver newspapers in her neighborhood, this was after Randy passed. I was a big Ozzy fan and knew which house was hers, so I would throw her a free newspaper every morning. I had no idea if she was even reading them or not, I just threw them. One morning the newspaper got a call from her house saying they were getting a paper every morning and didn't want them anymore, and I stopped throwing them.

Wish he was here too. God bless him. He's probably back jammin' with Kevin Dubrow. God bless 'em. Awesome, awesome talent.

I'm not sure when this came out, but an interesting read.

I really do wonder where he would be today. Maybe we would know and admire him in a completely different genre, maybe he'd be out of the game completely and teaching somewhere.
It's such a shame knowing he had higher musical aspirations.

Thanks for posting that. I've read most of it before, but its been a long while. I realized I don't live far from Randy's final resting place, only fourty miles. I'm going to pay my respects this weekend.

Musonia School of Music

Hello, I am a Newbie to this website. I am a student at Musonia in North Hollywood. This is the school made famous by Randy Rhoads. Funny this is, I ran into this school by accident. I was looking for some classical guitar lessons in the area and saw this school in the internet. It did not state any references to Randy. I must first say that Kelle Rhoads is a very nice person. He is an accomplished pianist. The school itself has not changed in 30 to 40 years. It is a living Museum /school. All wood floors and ceiling, no modern appliances, computers, or air conditioning (very hot in the summer). I feel like I am going back in time every week I enter this place. I don't know how many students there are here beside me, maybe a dozen or so, since I have only bumped into two others on the way out plus I am here only one day a week. There seems to be very little activity here but I do here that on friday nights, lots of Randy fans gather here for a free tour. The lessons for guitar are 30 minutes long - once a week. Prices are competetive compared to other small music stores, but here you get to meet Kelle Rhoads and see some of Randy's pictures and other assorted things left by fans world wide. I would have liked to have known Randy because even though I was not a Heavy Metal fan at the time of his passing, I understand that he was a very special human being that made everyone around him feel welcome. I have yet to meet Randy's mother, Delores. I am told by Kelle that she retired a few years ago and rarely comes to visit the school. I am lucky to live a few miles away. P.S. The guitar teacher at this time is named Dave, he is okay, comes in late, has a habit of looking at his watch a lot which annoys me and is not the most welcoming person. But again, Kelle is a great guy.

re this article:

at the end it says "15 yrs since his death", so it was written in 1997...

an interesting article. i understand the love us fans have for a fallen hero, gone too soon.
i would hate to be the parent in a situation like this. it would be very hard.
i can understand her point on these things. and i wouldn't have understood these before 2000, when my oldest was born.

interesting article. thanks for posting.
