How do YOU use your Timmy?
As a clean boost?
As an overdrive into an allready overdrive channel? As an overdrive into a clean amp? With Fender type amps, or with Marshall type amps? With humbuckers or with single coils? In gigs, or in your bedroom? Share please |

Boost for both Fenders and LPs into Marshalls. Great for that extra push.

I use mine with the gain around 2:00, dip switches down, and an LM1458 chip installed stacked it into a DLS set on rock with the gain around 9:00. Each pedal sounds great alone and stacked. I am very happy with this setup. My main guitars are an AVRI Stratocaster and Custom Telecaster. My amps are an Egnater Rebel 20 and a '66 Princeton Reverb.

when I owned the SHO, I used my Timmy as a light overdrive into the clean channel of my dual channels amp, Fender type clean for sure.
When I found the clean boost function of my Timmy is amazing, I sold my SHO and got a Tim. Now, I'm using my Tim as a clean boost & overdrive into the clean channel of my amp and my Timmy is pairing with the dirt channel of the amp, as a gain boost. I play both singles and humbuckers whatever in gigs or my bedroom, they do sound great with Tim and Timmy. |

Lately, I've been leaving my Timmy on all the time, as part of my base tone, and my other gain pedals running into it. Gain is around 11:00, both dip switches are down, and I usually run my Strat or Tele -> pedalboard -> '59 Bassman LTD. I've been getting a lot of compliments recently at gigs with this setup, so I think I'm going to leave it alone!

I use mine primarily as a lead boost. When I first got the pedal, I didn't really appreciate all its subtleties. I just ordered one because everyone on TGP did! Besides, I had to wait a year to get it, so I thought I might as well get on the list.
For me, it's the ultimate boost pedal, and it sounds great with everything. |

Almost always on set to low gain, everything goes through it.

At the end of my chain stacking various overdrives into it (Zendrive + Tim = Lead tone). Its the always pedal thats always on other then my SHO. I set it for light drive and find I can get clean enough tones by varying my pick attack.

I use mine with a Les Paul, gain around 2:00, run into a DAM Red Rooster, and adjust guitar volume accordingly. Love love love this combination.

Like many other posters, I use mine after OD's, always on, set to very low gain. It just improves everything!
But, I've learned here recently that I might be the Lone Ranger on matching it to my rig. I use mostly single coils into vintage Fender amps and I love it. Apparently it was designed to be used with British-voiced amps. Oh well. Works for me though!! |
