amp teck help needed!!!!!

Jtm 60 I am having power out issues with this amp i had a bad rectifier swaped him out and swaped tubes with other tubes they are all questionable i suppose pin outs on the tubes read as follows 2-7=6.97 vac ,3=482 vdc,4=479 vdc,5 = 38.7
to the OT i have 20vac in and am gitting 300mv out is this correct do i just have bad tubes , any advice greatly apperacited...101

20VAC in and 300mv out? Something is wrong there.

Could be bad tubes. If they are all questionable, swap them for a good set.

this amp has el 34,s can i use 6l6 or some other tube in its place??? if so what would be the benifits or disadvantages???? thanks 101

You can run other tubes in it, but you will have to adjust the bias supply to get the proper range. You can't just drop the tubes in and have them bias up right.

Benefits/disadvantages are pretty much just different tonal options. Not necessarily better or worse, just different. EL34 is more "british" sounding, while 6L6 will sound more American. 6550s will sound more "metal."

I don't believe that amp has a bias test port on it. I could be wrong though.

If you pull the chassis, the bias trim pot is located on the end near the power transformer. It is sort of difficult to get to, but that's where it is.

But again, the bias supply isn't enough for the tube swap. Turning the pot alone won't get you enough without changing a few small parts.

Yea i figured as much thanks again i always liked the sound of this amp i will leave it like it is (if it works)if not hey atleast i have some good parts in there someone can use i still think it will take pulling the pcb and some out of the circut testing ....one day... i am not able to work on it but every so often it is elsewhere thanks again for your reply
