Cool Removing Scotch Tape from Guitar

Looking for some expert advise..I picked up an acoustic at a garage sale today and on the back of the neck is scotch taped finger markers and playing instructions..It is not coming of by hand..Any suggestions for a liquid solvent perhaps that wont also remove the finish? Thanks as always, Mike

Or if you have a bottle of lighter fluid. Naphtha is the key ingredient in what you're looking for.

Lighter fluid (naphtha) is great, and safe for the finish. However, you might want to try a little heat first to get the tape off, then use lighter fluid to remove the glue residue.
