ADA Tri-Tube 75 combo. Video demo & review
It's up for sale in the emporium if anyone is interested.
As far as I can tell... this is the only video demo of a tri-tube to be found online. Clean 1st.. then higher gain. http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...t=MOV00378.flv I just got this amp & it overly excels at what it was meant for... Here is how I would describe this amp: Clean: very warm & fat if you so choose. or some voicings allow you to do the very clean studio style cleans heard in the 80's or some country picking. (the built in compressor is surprisingly good too!) It has a lot of headroom on the clean channel too. The clean on this amp reminds me of a Pearce G2R almost identically. mid-gain overdrive: this is where I would say the amp does OK.. but doesnt excel. You can get nice ACDC type crunch.. high to extreme gain: This is where this thing really shines. If you like the stuff heard on all the late 80's to mid 90's rock albums.. this will do it. Eddie Van Halen, Winger, Whitesnake, Zakk Wylde, and even heavier stuff.. this will do i. As far as high gain 80's rock, I would consider it the best amp I've ever plugged into personally. Compressor: Does a very good job & adequately adjustable. It works great for pumping the clean channel for modern punchy country & smoothing out leads. I would consider it to be a little better & quieter than your typical boss compressor. Compressor / Tremelo: both very nice sounding. Noise Gate: To me it seems to be much better than the noise gate on my MP-1. It doesnt become a hard gate until higher thresholds & has an alternate mode that just seems to cut out noise without using a gate. Effects Loop: programmable in/out Overall thoughts: very easy to program. i didnt need a manual to figure it out within 2-3 minutes. Amp is very loud & really good bottom end. But I am really impressed someone was able to keep this amp in such nice shape for this many years...I would rate it a 9.8 out of 10 in condition.. it is that clean. Cabinet Emulator: I thought it sounded really good. Especially for recording. I probably would bypass it for live playing (unless I was using it direct to the board) |
