Two Rock J2 is quite the little amp!

I get it J.T.-Just got the head plus cab package and man does that tiny amp kick butt. I am loving the thing and have yet to go inside and tweak the HRM trimmers. Tried it thru a Marshall 4X12, and a Sinewave 1X12 with a greenback as well as it's own TR 1X12 and super cool with all cabs. Amazing little amp. More to come. The J2 Rocks!!!

Steve, do you still like the J-2 ?
Can you share you're thoughts after a few weeks about the clean and overdrive sounds
Is it possible to set the amp up to have a good clean and overdrive sounds without having to change the settings when you change the channels ?

Alfred

I love this little amp. I can get amazing cleans and lead tones on the fly. I dialed the cleans the way I like them and then went in and turned the HRM trimmers to where I wanted the lead tones while leaving the front panel eq where I had it, mid boost engaged.I rolled the internal treble pot way back. Still has plenty as I run the contour between noon and 2:00. Never had to go back in and depending where the contour is set I can make it darker or brighter, its spectacular. I have lots of cabs I play with it and they all sound good. A 4X12 with this thing is unreal.

You can really get a wide variety of great tones on the fly. The front panel eqs are best set below 10:00 and I like the bright and deep pulled since it only affects the clean tone. Lead channel rocks and with the bypass and mid pulled it is such a good sound.

The amp is really touch sensitive and has a sound unlike any Two Rock to date. THe cleans , reverb, and lead channel are really something. i played with a guy a couple weeks ago who thought it was the best amp he had ever heard.

Stacks up nice to anything in the room and in this case size does not matter!

it's funny, when you see the jet next to almost any other amp you realize how small it really is. and how convenient it is to carry to gigs. would love to hear some clips of that little beast steve.

Yep it's even funnier to see the expressions on guitarists faces when they hear it. Huge tones in a small pkg for sure. Through a 4X12 it's a face ripper, I mean that in a good way.

I can make some clips but only with the Edirol hand job as that's all I have for now. I hope to upgrade soon. Two Rock may have some clips of it coming at a later date.

Thanks for the info Steve !

I wish there was a demo with a strat with good (Fendery) cleans and max gain.
I'm searching for an amp that has it all, so that my Overdrive pedals can stay at home, and i only have to bring a amp and a delay pedal (Boss DM-2 or Carbon Copy)

I'm using Stratocasters with Barber pedals (DD, LTD) and various Fender Amps (Princeton Reverb, Superchamp, Deluxe Reverb and Blues Deluxe) right now.

I will see what I can do while we wait for some clips from TR.

Hey Steve,

Did you try, or even consider, the J-2 Combo?

I was thinking, because of its size, you'd then have the option of using it as a grab- and- go AND as a head only, to be used with other cabs, as you're doing.

At First I was going to get the combo but the little head is so damn cute and I can still take a 1X12 cab of choice and have a highly portable rig. I have a little Sinewave 1X12 with a greenback that sounds amazing with that amp for a closed back thumping rock type deal. The cab it came with is sweet too but I am still trying speakers to see what I like best in it. It even sounded good with (gasp) a V30 in the 1X12 open back!!
