Anyone read Tommy James' new book?

Looks like quite a read. Maybe more about the music biz than we may want to know.

Tommy is a good guy from what I have heard. I want to read this...

I heard an interview he gave a local radio station. Without going into details, it definitely caught my attention.

I heard him on XM with "cousin Brucie" and it was amazing...

I think I will buy the book today.

Ok, I just finished it. Good read, though it drags a bit towards the end.

Well-written and really evocative of the time. Many smiles remembering...

The way Tommy came up, and the way he succeeded, is no longer available to young artists and bands. Or to anyone else for that matter. For that reason alone, this is a good read for musicians.

That whole music business is gone gone gone...

From many perspectives it is no great loss. It appears that Morris Levy cheated Tommy James out of ummm

40 MILLION DOLLARS....

Good book. Recommended.

Oooww!
...and what could you do? Go up to his penthouse, knock on the door, and ask 'Is Mr. Levy in, please?'
'Oh, okay. Well, when will he be back?'

Tommy did that, except he actually walked in Levy's office (something Levy allowed him to do) and got into a huge screaming match with Levy over unpaid royalties. Good luck with that, huh?

Levy was not going to hurt Tommy because of all the money he brought in, and he honestly did seem to like Tommy, but Tommy never got a nickel of royalties until Levy died...

Quite a read.
