It's actually a serious question. I know that some folks who have may prefer not to discuss it, and I understand that.

I was just wondering about people that have had someone break into their home, try to rob them or threaten loved ones with violence, etc. Or police officers that have been faced with that circumstance where they had to make the decision.

It would horrify me... there's no telling how I would react to that kind of situation. I hope I would at least have some presence of mind to act appropriately whatever the course of action. It compells me...

Also, I was with a buddy when he accidentally shot himself in the wrist with one of my pistols.

Yep. When I was 12, my buddy had me dead to rights with his Daisy Air Rifle, and I had to put him down. With my own Daisy. You've never seen horror until you've seen what a copper BB will do to the human body. 20 years of counseling later, I still shudder.
