NAD: 05-16-08A NOS from Magdon
I went to the Dallas guitar show yesterday looking to trade off a guitar that I wasn't bonding with sonically (it played and felt great). I searched the entire floor of Market Hall and at Magdon Musics booth I found a beautiful tobacco burst T Classic. It sounded right, so i walk around the show a bit and went back and did a trade deal with them.
So, I have played the guitar for a few hours now. My first impression was that the bridge pup wasn't for me (this was in comparison to my LsL through a 55 Champ), but then I plugged into my tweed Deluxe clone... now I have the perfect gig rig, bridge pup very tele like and beyond (gotta use the volume knob with these pups), neck pup very strat like, which is what I was looking for in a tele, middle position, very strat like quack... very useful too. It has a rock maple neck/maple board with medium frets. The neck has a nicely rolled fret board edges. It has a satin finis and is tinted for a more vintage look. It has an even taper .050" over neck shape. The body is alder and looks to be a book matched two-piece. Fit and finish is awesome, the way the fretboard edge is rolled, the high polish of the frets give this guitar an incredible feel. I'll post a pic once my camera battery charges back up. |
