I can see what you mean about it being a bit "Broadway", which I take to mean a bit overly emoted, but still seems well done. John Denver is, to my mind, the most underrated American songwriter in history. Little known fact - my first live vocal performance was singing "Rhymes and Reasons" in the Sonoran Desert in front of my fellow 7th graders on a school camping trip.
Glad to see people keeping his great music alive.
