Low gain Fuzz

Need a low gain fuzz, that sounds good at low volumes.
I’m not a big fan of fuzz (more of a overdrive guy) but need something that will give me a little bit of grit and sustain, but still maintain definition, when playing at low volume in my Budda SD18.
Something like this:

What do you guys recommend?

A fuzz face will sound like that if you roll back your guitar volume knob. It starts to sound very "ODish". Turn the guitar volume knob back up, and you're in wooly fuzz territory.

BTW, I'd never heard Saint Lu before, and really liked what I heard just now. Thanks for posting.

I used to hate fuzz. I mean hate it. Now I own like 8 fuzz boxes, my favorites being the Skreddy Screw Driver, the Skreddy Lunar Module & Nick Greer's Orange Crush. I use the Screw Driver as an OD so much that I am selling my Timmy and contemplating selling my Keeler Pull...The Screw Driver can cover a lot of ground, BUT it can take a while to dial in the sound in your head...

I agree with fuzz face and its variants, and the screwdriver
Also, I found the Folk Fuzz to be very fuzz-lite, almost like the timmy of fuzzes

Great song and a cool video. I loved the sound of the opening riff.

Fuzz head does a good job too. It is a fairly low-gain fuzz.

I've heard many say the Skreddy Screwdriver and the Morgan Shadow Fuzz will get you those tones. I just picked up a Shadow Fuzz but haven't played it yet. I'll let you know after I play it tomorrow morning.

Skreddy Screwdriver is the fuzz pedal for non-fuzz-enthusiasts and fuzz-enthusiasts alike!

Keeley fuzz head is a pretty low gain fuzz. Good sounding too. A foxrox hot silicon is a fuzz face clone and works wonders with the guitar volume knob. Relatively cheap too.

Yep, a Keeley FuzzHead would be a great choice indeed!

The Throbak Overdrive Boost will also get you there. Very versatile box. The Screwdriver is also a great suggestion. I think a really good Fuzz Face will get you that sound but some Fuzz Face based pedals are better than others and you need a really good one. I like the Analogman High-gain NKT 275 Sunface. Love that pedal.

Love that tone he's getting. Anyone know,or can guess, what his rig is?
Kind of off topic I know.
