Full story?

If true, that's assault, and I'd drop my camera and kick his ass, or at least that's what I'd start doing before logic kicked in and I sued him for whatever he's got left.

Looks like the camera man is directly in the line of the shot. Assumption of the risk.

The cameraman may be 100 yards away and using a telephoto lens...

As far as I'm concerned all of those golf spectators are nuts. There's no way I'd stand as close as those idiots do. I don't care who's shooting, there's always the slight possibility that something could go wrong and one of these jackasses is gonna take a shot to the head sooner or later.

The rabid, jock-sniffer type of sports and music fans have always weirded me out.

I say it's a spot of water on the camera lense and everyone just happened to notice it at the same time.

seems a bit shopped to me. He's out of his swing way too soon, no divot, no grass flying. For the speed that ball would be travelling, it's a bit remarkable that EVERYONE has their eyes trained on it. And what is the subject for the two photographers in the lower left, certainly not TW.
