Did I make a mistake?
Recently I was in the market for an analog delay. Where I'm located I didn't have the chance to go try out the two pedals I narrowed it down to: Malekko 616 and Carbon Copy. I listened to almost every demo I could and they both sounded good.
I called a certain company and I had him try out both pedals and I wanted the warmer, darker stomp box. He told me the Malekko was darker in TB mode and still pretty warm and dark in buffered mode. I've been playing it non-stop and it sounds great, but I have to keep the mix fairly low to get the type of sound I like (but I've been using it in front of my Fender Super Champ, the real verdict will be when I can try it thru the loop of my Marshall JCM 800, but right now I'm 4 hours away from it at school). A lot of people are saying the 616's repeats are more clear and crisp for an analog delay.
I noticed with the Carbon Copy you can have the mix past 12 o'clock and the repeats are still fairly quiet, distant and laid back, and the repeats sound dirtier than some other analogs, which I like. Does anyone have experience with the two and how wet can the CC get with the repeat still being faint and distant?
