New Guitar Day!

This landed in my hands yesterday. I've been Gas'ing for one for a long time and finally saw a good deal on it and pulled the trigger. Aside from two miniscule marks on it this thing is mint and sounds awesome.

My first Gibson, I'm loving the hell out of it!

Oh, yeah! I remember getting my first Gibson. It's a great feeling to finally get one that's all your own. Congratulations!

All in all, $800 w/ SKB case included was a good deal to me. I've seen them cheaper but I didn't have the money at the time, and it's in great shape.

My other guitar is a Fender Tele Deluxe reissue that I put a pair of humbucker P90's in (with an amazing custom pickguard from Terrapin Island...great company), and it's quite an adjustment. I really wanted something that was completely different from my Tele and that's what I got!

The neck feels shallower than the tele but the width and the frets feel similar, but it was the body that really changes the game for me. It's so thin and light compared to the tele! It's really great though...I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet (been too busy with work) but I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Gotta love NGD's. I've always wanted to love an SG. Never played a p90. I bet that would cure my ills. How about a demo clip?

I've been so busy with work that it hasn't met my amp yet, but soon. The snow going in on Mass. isn't helping my chances of getting to the rehearsal space today. Kind of bummed about that because I ordered a new set of tuners that are sitting in my office right now and I don't think I'll be commuting in to work today.

Not really digging the stock tuners on this thing, gonna throw a set of Gibson vintage tuners on there soon. No particular reason other than I like they way they look better than the stock ones.

Nice guitar! These classics are a fatter neck profile or else I would be looking for one. How is the neck profile on yours? You might want to try these as a quality upgrade from the original tuners:
http://www.toneproskluson.com/models.html

I would probably shield the pickup and electronics cavities and look into a direct fit ABR to Nashville posts for the bridge. I can't remember who makes them...

These look great in red or black! Enjoy!
