Frippertronics : Eno period : anyone try to ape this using new pedals?

Been overdosing on the Fripp/ Eno collaborative records and the Olympia concert in Paris in 1975-

anyone try to ape this sound with new pedals (not racks)
I'm wondering if the Styrmon El Cap (which i have ) would be great paired with anothe El Cap- (or maybe the new Timeline)
Going for the density and feedback build up he gets, and the control over it as well-(was he using a Buzzaround then for distortion/fuzz?)

He claimed to quit using the Buzzaround years before- "I can get my sound from any fuzz"...

with a fuzz, a volume pedal, and any looper, or delay with a fairly long delay/loop time (the El Capistan in sound-on-sound mode would work great), you can get in the ballpark.

I get that smoothe, infinite sustain from my Blackout Effectors Musket (well, the Musket side of my Twosome). Crank the Pre knob and (probably) the tone knob, then adjust the mids, fuzz, and low end (Focus) to taste. -E

i use 6, 12, and 18 second delays on my boss dd20 for frippertronics type stuff - love the mod delay with super long delay times and a few repeats and also the numerical display for dialing it in.

wonder if i can do a tiny revive of this thread as this is something i've been experimenting with. Ditched my much-loved DL4 to get something with longer delay times and currently using a Digitech Time Bender. it works well, 5 sec delay in tape mode, and you can 'hold' the loop while you solo.

The only thing is when you turn off the delay in order not to add any more input you don't get proper trails, and when you turn it back on it's not smooth, so it seems like you have to bypass the whole pedal to do this. It is true stereo though which i use to feed two amps.

Contemplating the Vox Delaylab and El Capistan as well if it doesn't work out.

Been trying to get the El Cap for this purpose. I'll let you know in 2014 how it went.
