MXR 78 Custom Distortion BonaMASSA Fuzz

Dunlop just updated their page on this pedal with some sound clips:

http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/m78...-78-distortion

Is this pedal basically going for a late 70's Distortion + sound?

Dunlop also updated the Bonamassa fuzz page with some sound clips:

That sounds a lot less congested than a D+ to me. -E

Wow. Thanks for the heads up.
That 78 sounds great! At $80 they could have a real winner there.

Has anyone heard any release dates for the '78 Custom? I have pretty high hope for that one and can't wait to be able to try it.

With a name like '78 Custom, they're begging to be raked over the coals if this thing is not EVH in a box.

I've been eyeing this thing and I had no idea '78 had anything to do with Van Halen; I assumed it was the year they released the D+ or something. -E

Has anyone heard a release date for the '78 Custom yet?

I got an email from Bananas saying they were coming on 4/11 and could be preordered starting then. Sweetwater says they are expecting them in May.......

MXR is putting out some great stuff recently

My MXR 75 phase 45 re-issue and the 78 Dyna Comp re-issue have long term spots on my board....

And I'm looking forward to trying one of these.

1978 the year the ProCo RAT was made... also, at the NAMM video the guy said it's based in a widely used circuit (by other builders)... if that circuit was the D+ they'd say it... but they're like trying to hyde which circuit is it... so my vote is a modded RAT.
