Who has "sold it all" and narrowed down to a s type and LP type?

and done it without remorse. I've often thought a vintage LP Jr and my vintage vibrolux reverb could get me through anything. Who has sold the farm and been happy about it. It would make me practice more instead of reading, reading, reading, about guitars.

I have whittled down my collection to 2 LP types, and 2 Strat types. Plus one 7 string.

I narrowed from 7 guitars to 1 CS Cunetto strat and 1 Murphy aged Les Paul, haven't regretted since then. This is 2 years ago. The collection is building up again but with these 2 guitars as a constant.

I'm selling stuff I don't play all that much any more. I'm a Les Paul man through and through so gradually selling off all non-Lester's.

At one point I had 6 different electrics and 3 amps. Now I've got two electrics and 2 amps. Only one electric and one amp are the same as before. =)

2008 R4 Les Paul
1998 CE Telecaster

1963 Fender Princeton
1962 Fender Tremolux

I'm interested in a Les Paul Deluxe for the mini humbuckers, but otherwise I'm good on guitars. I have ZERO use for a strat. Hate them. Wouldn't mind locating a Wide-Panel Fender Pro for the low wattage, 15" speaker setup. I'd probably move one of my amps to accomplish that.

Done it. Had 18 guitars back in '05. Down to two: A PRS 513 and a Collings I-35 Deluxe. Will probably add a American Deluxe Strat (one of the newer ones) to these two sometime soon.

Did a similar purge with amps.

Just sorta realized that no matter what I do or what I play, I sound like me, and that can be a good or bad thing! LOL!

I have owned quite a few guitars, now I have a LP and a Tele. Pedals on the other hand, that is a different story.

I've sold it all and narrowed it down to a couple Guild Starfires (335 style) and a tele build

I always think about doing this.

Here's what I have:
an early 90's 335 Dot RI (My son loves this guitar so it can't go)
2002 LP Standard ( My daughter picked this one out so it can't go)

Custom Shop Strat 60's (My main guitar)
Thinskin '62 Tele (Waay cool)
Custom Shop EC Strat (Huge EC fan)
Am Std Strat (Nice but probably the most expendable)

One accoustic (Martin 000-28EC, I said I was a huge EC fan)

Two amps;
A handwired 1 x 12 Vibrolux type amp with a G12-65 (Smaller Rooms and bars)

'64 Vibroverb Custom (Big Rooms and outdoors)

I did this. I had a lot of guitars. I think I had up to 12 electrics at one time.

I now have 2 Hamer Artists, 1 Martin acoustic, 1 valve train amp and a couple pedals. I keep 2 electrics to have a backup when playing live. For me it was when I found something that worked for me in all aspects (tone, playability, comfort with neck shape, etc.) that I felt the need to get rid of everything else.

I think it's cool you guys can do this. I need to, and want to, but some of my stuff is almost an investment. It's so nice, that it's hard to bury it, but seeing where the economy is, and really looking at a lot of the old school players playing instruments that likely don't touch the quality that time, build technique, and technology we have today, and producing great tones, and classic albums, make me feel a little over zealous. I only have 6 electricsi (I've given two away to players that needed help), 2 acoustics, and 6 great amps which is nothing compared to a lot of people.
