Fuchs SLX30 clip with Wizard speaker

Hi,

Been real busy with the babies lately... Hardly any time to record! My bud Enrique on Guitar.com posted a funky jazzy fusion backing and asked for someone to take a solo after him. I did this with the 30 watter and Wizard speaker.....

Here is just my part http://www.scottlernermusic.com/august/narsh30a.MP3

Here is the full version with Enriques solo first
http://www.scottlernermusic.com/30/narshjam.MP3

Enrique is a great metal player. Kudos to him for trying a different style!

I'll post this backing later for anyone interested in blowing over it.

Scott

I don't think that's the best amp timbre I've heard from you--but it still sounds plenty good.

Maybe it's the speaker...

I was going for a little different sound. I thinned the bottom a tad and tried to scoop the upper mids with some filtering inside the amp. I was attempting to get a nice blooming fusion tone that had some bright edge but was really smooth. I kind of think it worked. I do agree on the speaker. I am preferring the Tonespotter and it is a tad thinner and more articulate than the Wizard without resorting to tweaks.

Thanks for commenting

I like the tone alot! Different from others you've posted. Wonderful playing as always Your phrasing kills!

I really enjoyed Enrique's playing as well. Do you know what amp he used?

Great take Scott!
Looking foreward to the backing.
I've been collecting backings for quite some time from this site, but until reciently have not had an amp that I was happy with to record.

Hi Scott,

Great tone & great playing as usual.

I like way you bend the note and you get natural
long sustain. Plus you play really fast and so smooth.
I can't do that. It reminds me Buzz Feiton.

Wonderful playing!

What kind of mic did you use? Just one mic?

Tomo

Wonderful playing and tone, as usual.

Especially liked the lick between 3:11 and 3:15 and the passage between 2:13 and 2:21. Such Groove!

Scott,

Sorry it took me so long to listen to this. I really like the tone. The amp sounds a bit more open and brighter than in previous clips. I love your phrasing and the more aggressive lines you're playing. Some of those long sustaining notes sound wicked. Great stuff!
