Would appreciate Beano Boost tips - whatcha do to make it work for you?

Having a bit of trouble unleashing the Beano Boost. Got any tips that worked for you?

Using a les paul and a sunface.

Thanks!

First things first, it has gotta be going into an amp that is set to od - at minimum! The more the better IMO. True of all treble boosters. My apologies if this is the most obvious comment and you already know this, but it is a finiky old circuit, not everyone get's them at first. Forget the Sunface for the moment, the Beano and the Les Paul are a wonderful combination, so what kind of amp are they going into, and how's that set?

Agree - overdriven amp, adjust the knob and switch to taste. One of the easiest pedals to dial in, IMO. Once you get "that" tone - it's sometimes hard to go to other pedals! LOL!

A Beano Boost can really be magical with a good amp. You don't mention what amp you are using it with, but a Les Paul into a Sunface into a Beano Boost into a Marshall 2061X/2061CX (volume set for sweet break-up) and I'm in tone heaven. Works with a Strat too.

At the place where we rehearse there are Marshall Valvestate or MG amps; then the magic is gone (also without the Beano ).

Thanks for the comments you guys!

I'm running everything through a Matchless DC30. It's awesome but crazy loud.

As the DC30 is a Vox type of amp, I wonder if anyone can chime in and comment how well these are suited to treble boosters? I know it worked for Brian May and Rory Gallagher! It quite a bright amp with leaner bass and a pronounced treble, right? If so, a TB will be adding more of this! How is it set - clean or breaking up? And how are you using the Beano, as in what mode? I beleive that Brian May used the non-topboost side of his AC30's, set to overdrive before putting his TB's in the chain. Can you describe what sounds are you getting, and what are you trying to get?
