AxeFX II Headphone Output

Those of you that have the AxeFX II, Scott, et. al.

How is the headphone output volume? I run my Ultra into a little Mackie mixer, and take my headphones from that as well as outputs to the powered monitors, my Apogee Duet, etc.

Is it as loud as you want? Fidelity OK? If you put what headphones etc you're using, I'm sure no one would complain.

I have no issues with the headphone jack at all.

AKG-271 & Audio-Technica ATH-M50 here. (The Audio-Technica's are the main phones the past few months and newer; the AKG's have seen better days...)

AKG 271 here as well (and happy about), do you think the ATH is an upgrade or just an alternative? Thinking about getting another headphone...

Well, it affects the output of both; so if the speakers are louder, then you will obviously feel the headphones are too quiet.

I sincerely think the ATH has a better response, especially the bass - and I am a AKG fan boi (hardcore) for the last 20 years. Since I bought the ATH last Winter, I have not even put the AKG's back on much at all. And when I do, 99.999% of the time I reach for the ATH...

No issues with the headphone jack either. And yes, the output can get very loud. If I'm jamming along with songs in iTunes, I may need to tweak the output level on iTunes.. that was one nice thing about the Duet.

Grado Alessandro MS2s here. Love them. Flat, clear, comfortable.

I keep the volume at around 10-11:00. Cans are some open-back AKGs. Cheap but the sound good to me.

it's plenty loud for standard 40-600 Ohm headphones.. unless you are driving some with mega-ohm impedance

I tried a friends Axe FX II the other day. When he put headphones in, there was no output. Do you need to go into I/O to shift it to headphones out? I didn't have time to stay if he figured it out

No. Plug in, then use the input knob to set the volume.
