Anyone with the newer Hotcake version fooled around with the supposed to be "bluesberry"? Haven't fooled around with mine yet. I just want to know where is it and what does it do exactly? Thanks.

With my '65 Bassman it seemed 'brighter' to me than the Normal side. Still sounded roughly the same but the Blueberry seemed to be a tad more articulate.

smoother with more "diode" type drive. you have to listen to the way the drive comes on and sustains. there's a more even, more compressed sound to it. the feel is about the same but onset of gain is more even & rounder & the trail off is less fizzy. i like both but favor the regular hot cake.

live you will hear a bit of difference but the presence control is the knob that yields the greatest changes. the switchable hot cake in bluesberry mode is not identical to the "only" bluesberry models he use to make, and will still make on request. even still, the switch versus the presence knob has a change in sound.

The difference between normal and bluesberry is pretty subtle. |
