Hard to Handle

Always blown away by how that solo roars out of little car stereo speakers sounding so huge. I know there were expensive mic pre's, compressors etc. making it sound that way. Does anyone know what kind of gear Brendan O'brien used on that track? Obviously a Les Paul?

It always sounds big live too... I think it's where the frequency of the notes are... it just HITS!

It must get daily airplay during my commute.... and I never tire of hearing it. One of the best lead tones I've ever heard.

Brendan played that solo. No studio magic going on.... just a great player - guitar - amp - microphone.

One of my favorites! This is the song that helped me learn the beautiful sound of bending the 6th to the b7th. Never gets old.

lol; you just made me realize how many blues breaks I probably start this way too...[unconscious: ever since the tune was a hit I suppose].

Whenever I try to teach someone about guitar...that's the solo I use. It's got everything in guitar 101....slides, bends, hammer on/off's. I can come very close to playing it exact...but that thing rips.
