Hammond Branded Preamp Tubes
I've been told that re-branded Hammond preamp tubes are some of the best valves out there (i.e. a Hammond branded GE is better than a straight up GE). I've read that they have a very wide frequency spectrum. If this is the case, are there certain brands under the Hammond umbrella that are better than others?
Thanks -Adam |

A couple of things. I have Hammond branded RCAs, Sylvanias, Raytheons, etc. There isn't just one brand. Also, there is no difference between a Hammond brand RCA Black Plate and a regular Black Plate from the exact same time period.
However, you can often find some great deals on tubes that are labeled as Hammond, Lowry, etc.

The new myth about Hammond labeled tubes being better than the actually manufacturer labeled tubes is BS. Where to people come up with this stuff?
