Are pedal prototypes more 'valuable'?

Simple question I reckon...

Do you consider the prototype of a certain pedal to be more valuable than a standard production one?

I guess valuable/collectable/desirable would all be interchangeable to some degree...

Would you pay more or does it not matter and you'd rather have a production one that in theory might be built a little more 'soundly'...

Thoughts???
