Anybody try "50's wiring" on a bass?

I just did this mod to my tele, and it adds some interesting tones. I am thinking that it may be a cool mods, maybe to one of my P's.

On the tele, it has a treble bleed effect, with a slight mid scoop when the volume pot is rolled town. The tone control has some effect on volume/output, but it also removes some top end, while the mids and bottom remain the same. Also it seems to have more output.

Anybody tried this on bass? Any idea why it would or wouldnt work?
