70s SF Champ - Cranked!

Here's a short vid of a champ I recapped for a friend with an 90s LP Special II, it goes up to eleven! Running it through a 2x12" with two greenbacks

thanks!

yup, I love a nice Champ with the volume at 8/9. late 70s chaps can sound tinny and shrill with the stock bias setting, but change the cap+resistor and it becomes sweet and a true rocker. amazing for recording!

...and there it is. Davey Johnstone on 'Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting', Ronnie Wood/The Faces 1970-74 - pick a track; silverface Champs were very common in UK studios in the 70s. They ended up on countless rock/pop records from that era.
Thanks for that demo!

I'm very impressed and pretty hard to please. It's been a really LONG time since I played through a Champ and I'm very pleasantly surprised to hear how much gain is there. Through the cab the thing sounds so sweet and full. It sounds great! Thanks for doing this.
