Roger Goodell and the hugging last night?

Did anyone else watching the draft notice that Goodell and the drafted players were really overemphasizing their hugs last night? You would have thought Goodell was the father of all these kids! Some of the hugs lasted uncomfortably long.

I swear on a few occassions Goodell almost touched lips with the kids......I really don't think this picture was doctored at all. This is literally what I saw:

I think the plan is to replace hitting with hugging. Hugging bounties will get lesser suspensions.

Yea that pre-planned handslapping thing was a little odd too.

IIRC This was initiated by a guy a couple of years ago. It was actually a very cool scene. It was clear that the dude was elated to be in the NFL and when he came out he shook RG's hand and gave him a giant bearhug. I wish I could remember who it was but it was hilarious and the look on Godell's face when he did it was classic. He was laughing his ass off at this giant of a man who was hugging him.

Anyone remember who that was?

In an effort to prove that he "cares deeply", Goodell will soon kiss each pick like Michael Corleone kissed Fredo when he said "I know it was you!"

1) what was with the dooshbag spectators yelling 'what?!' during every single one of RG's announcements?

RG: "With the nth selection in the 2012 NFL Draft ..."

crowd: "WHAT!?"

RG: "the <teamname> select <player> from <university>"

2) why are the brims of those hats so ginormous!?

Goodell baffles me to be honest.

Every time he takes the stage he gets booed to an extreme degree. You would think at some point the man would get the message, step back, and just let a few HOF guys get up there and do it.

The fact that he still thinks he needs to be the "face of the organization" despite the clear displays of hatred toward him from the fans is proof positive to me that he has an ego problem.

Goodell has got to go. I thought Selig was the worst sports head, but this guy and his vendettas are totally out of control.

I like Goodell as a Commish, but he looked like a total clown doing all that hugging and handshaking last night. Just silly.

Hilarious thread. My fiancee asked about the hugs and RG's relationship with these kids this morning during Sportscenter. I didn't know what to say.
