In addition to the Standard Burst type build, I also did one with different tone woods. I used Redwood for the Top, Spanish Cedar for the Body and Neck and Honduran Rosewood for the fingerboard.

Beautiful work, but aside from a slightly different headstock and cutaway shape, this is replica (copy, what have you) of a 1959 Les Paul.
I see nothing else than Gibson appointments and thinking.
Execution, look, and vibe are spot-on, but it's a Les Paul.

That's a cool piece of rosewood on the redwood model. Normally people try to get the darkest rosewood they can, but I dig that light marbled color.

Yes, that is the point of this guitar. To be a replica without being a true replica, if you can dig what I mean.

My other models are much more outside of the box, semi hollow, non traditional tonewoods etc, but this build is exactly what you said it is. Its true to a '59 Burst in construction and tone and I would stack it up against the best.

Thank you. The redwood topped guitar was kind of an experiment. It turned out amazingly well. At first I couldn't describe the tone of the Redwood topped guitar, but after thinking about it, the tone is right in line with a late 50's LP all mahogany Custom. Just Huge Fat tone for days!!!

Thanks. That is Honduran Rosewood. Its a killer rosewood for fingerboards and under used because of the color in my opinion. I happen to think it fits in well with this guitar.
