Ummmm...no. No piss on my end. I hadn't noticed the squeaks until you pointed them out, and I think it's good that you did. I have never really considered that aspect of playing as something you could control, and your suggestion is certainly valid. My commentary to splatt was strictly in good humor and sarcasm. Sorry if that intent was lost due to the emotionless/gesture-less interwebs. I still hear all those squeaks in his post though. Stupid squeaky mouse of his.

Just thought I'd revive this thread for its good parts (great recordings and photos), even at the risk of dredging up the bad bits (squeak, squeak).

Man, I would love to have the chance to try one out. What a design!

Thank you Blauserk for bringing back my favorite discussion, "Squeaky Ken Parker guitars.".
I'm joking, really! Actually Ken has my deposit and eventually I'll receive one of the finest guitars in the world...
nonsqueaky,

Me and Ken have been buds for years. I've been to his shops (NY and Mass) many times seeing him create those so cool guitars. He already has my deposit, and is building away and I will have my guitar soon; I hope. I think about it every day. Who else has gone thru this? Or going thru this now?
The recording was way too squeaky for me, I'll see I can do better when my Parker archtop arrives.

I never meant to be nasty. If my silliness with splatt was interpreted as such, my apologies.

I tried to be very clear in my post that I APPRECIATED your commentary.

Still need to go see to Clem in Drippin' for some Yo-Yo time. I have no one to blame but myself.

i haven't finished the piece, yet, and, in fact, this is only a section of the intro- to it;
the piece, itself, is more "song"-like.

enjoy, anyways.

anyway, so.....
until tomorrow, i have another of ken's incredible guitars, here;
i think i dig this one even more than i did "stella".

it's new,
and it's called "fig", and it plays..... perfectly, even in my dropped tunings......
gorgeous & balanced, characterful & specific, without any trace nor hint of 'sterility', whatsoever:
damn.
killer.

Same Parker as Parker Guitars? Same headstock as the electrics.

Same Ken Parker. He sold Parker Guitars about 8 years ago and they are now (and have been since the sale) completely non-related.

Ken started building his archtops in late 2006. Essentially, he did the same thing for archtop guitars that he did for solid bodies - he completely rethought them and made a quantum leap in their design and construction. Incredible instruments.

I have David! I was fortunate to be able to play a bunch of them, but none built since NAMM of this year. For some reason, Olive is still a guitar I have a soft spot for, but she is unique. Fig is my other number 1 - of the ones I've played.

Enjoy. I wish I was headed down there this weekend. I just updated Ken's site with a guitar he delivered in June called "The Penguin". It's a cutaway built to the dimensions of Mira, but it has a shorter tailpiece. I'd love to hear it - and I believe it's going to be in Woodstock for part of the show. If you would, give me your impression.
