Ummmm...no. No piss on my end. I hadn't noticed the squeaks until you pointed them out, and I think it's good that you did. I have never really considered that aspect of playing as something you could control, and your suggestion is certainly valid. My commentary to splatt was strictly in good humor and sarcasm. Sorry if that intent was lost due to the emotionless/gesture-less interwebs. I still hear all those squeaks in his post though. Stupid squeaky mouse of his.

Just thought I'd revive this thread for its good parts (great recordings and photos), even at the risk of dredging up the bad bits (squeak, squeak).

i think i dig this one even more than i did "stella".

it's new,
and it's called "fig", and it plays..... perfectly, even in my dropped tunings......
gorgeous & balanced, characterful & specific, without any trace nor hint of 'sterility', whatsoever:

Same Ken Parker. He sold Parker Guitars about 8 years ago and they are now (and have been since the sale) completely non-related.

Ken started building his archtops in late 2006. Essentially, he did the same thing for archtop guitars that he did for solid bodies - he completely rethought them and made a quantum leap in their design and construction. Incredible instruments.

I have David! I was fortunate to be able to play a bunch of them, but none built since NAMM of this year. For some reason, Olive is still a guitar I have a soft spot for, but she is unique. Fig is my other number 1 - of the ones I've played.

Enjoy. I wish I was headed down there this weekend. I just updated Ken's site with a guitar he delivered in June called "The Penguin". It's a cutaway built to the dimensions of Mira, but it has a shorter tailpiece. I'd love to hear it - and I believe it's going to be in Woodstock for part of the show. If you would, give me your impression.
