Oud - New record release Harel Shachal and Anistar - Middle Eastern,Balkan,World

Wanted to share a record that I'm very proud to have been a part of and was just recently released.

I play oud and cumbus with Harel Shachal and Anistar. We were a Middle Eastern jazz group that played in NYC from 2001-2009. We released a record in 2005 and this is our second release finally seeing the light of day after recording it in 2008-2009. So excited to finally hear the end result after having the tracks lay dormant for a few years.

Here's one in 14/8 featuring Michal Cohen on vocals

A more sparse one:

Very cool stuff. Congrats on bringing it to completion. Loved the mood and feel of both of your posted tracks here.

Very nice. I've always been moved by Middle Eastern and North African music. Big fan of Hamza El Din and Simon Shaheen.

The first tune has a chorus that sounds Western to my ears. Very nice.
