Thinking about making some moves. The only steady work I can get here in the states is my god forsaken solo acoustic/singing act - f-in' doomed.
Not "allowed" to play progressive instrumental music (jazz &/or jazz-fusion) for any reasonable compensation. THe only jazz gigs are wallpaper gigs , if you can find them.

IF NOT jazz, it is like pulling teeth to get a budget for a trio for any style of music :-(

Kinda lookin for somewhere that doesn't get overly cold weather wise, and which has BAND work for jazz, rock, pop, dance, etc . . .

SOunds cool - kinda don't want to be stuck on an island , particularly in Hurricane alley - grew up on one. After Hurricane Andrew, I swore that i would never live on an island again

Although I have never lived there...Rome was one of the most expensive cities I have ever visited...there may be ways to get around it but I would also take the cost of living into account...

You may make more but you will definitely pay more to live in certain European cites...try paying about $8.50 or so for a gallon of gas

Chow,
Seegs

I'm going to the region of Abruzzo. slightly South of midway. About an hour from Rome.
I'm there a few weeks in Sept just to feel it out.
Great Jazz Festival in Pescara.
Played it a few times. Looking onto the sea. Delicious.
