Fender Japan makes one. And a Beck Tele-Gib as well.
I have a CIJ Micawbre neck on a partscaster and its a very nice neck.

Sacrilege here perhaps, but could the "signature" market is a bit over-saturated?
I can hardly think of a popular guitarist in any mass genre that hasn't got one - some have more than one. Furthermore, you could name 4 or 5 (admittedly iconic) designs and safely say that that 85-90% of the "artist" models are merely slight variants thereof. Certainly a successful strategy for many manufacturers for a long time, but to me, it seems to be getting a bit thin now. Just a stray thought, and I don't mean to hijack the thread - but I'd be interested to hear others takes on the matter! -db

BTW, I got jumped on over in another thread when I asked why Johnny A gets a sig model. Apparently, he's got some fans.... |

I mentioned the Mick Taylor signature would be good and this was during the anniversary of Exile on Main Street - which would have resulted in more people being interested in one due to all the media coverage. Nothing happened though. One of the Gibson guys said it would be a good idea and he'd look into it. That guitar was given to Mick by Keith Richards which would have been another selling point. Nothing came of it. I'm sure Mick Taylor would have agreed if they asked him as he's not doing so well financially and is having health problems.

Bring back the Hendrix Woodstock Strat.
And the Neil Schon Les Paul. (a LP with everything you would ever want) And the early Angus Young SG. (The one w/ the drawing on the headstock) How about a Ty Tabor '80s Strat w/ active reissue pickups? Eric Johnson briefly had a vintage style Stratocaster with a Floyd Rose installed. An Adrian Smith Gibson SG ('70s style w/ brown finish and block inlay) Last edited by americananalog; 05-08-2012 at 03:05 AM. |

I've seen these in Japan. They're called KR52's or something like that. I think they were a special run just for Japan. I've seen a couple and believe it or not they weren't that expensive. Looked cool too. There was also a run of his Black 355 with the Bigsby too. Very cool!

Yeah you missed the JW Firebird. They weren't that expensive and they had a hard time sellin' them. I believe Wildwood had a bunch and they sold them really cheap, considering.
